A Few Common Positions

The Channel Arc Manche Assembly is dedicated to dialogue, reflection, proposition and action aiming to promote the specificity, the coherence and the relevance of the Channel area at the European level.

For this objective to be realised, the Channel Arc Manche Assembly sets up meetings between its President and European Commission representatives on a regular basis - from the REGIO, Recherche, Transport, Culture and Education DGs.

On the occasion of the publication, by the Commission, of the Green Paper on the Union's Maritime Policy, stakeholders from the Channel area contributed to the debate on our seas' and oceans' future and the development of an integrated European maritime policy.

Since the Arc Manche network was relaunched in 2003, the Channel Arc Manche Assembly has worked on providing the Channel area with renewed and reinforced visibility, by taking common positions on European policies and programmes. All the declarations below have been sent to French and British national authorities as well as to European institutions.
