The European Commission calls upon the Arc Manche to express itself with the European Maritime Forum
The "European Maritime Forum", which is accessible via the website of the Directorate-General for Maritime affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) of the European Commission, aims to improve stakeholders' input to the European Union Maritime Policy. It allows beforehand constituted "groups" to publish information and communicate on their events.
In response to our appeal, the DG MARE has decided to create a specific group for the Arc Manche. Contrary to the other groups, the "Channel Arc Manche" group is directly run out by the Haute-Normandie Region, which is the lead partner of the "Channel Arc Manche Integrated Strategy" (CAMIS) project. Thus, the "Channel Arc Manche" group is considered as a "pilot group".
Being a real participatory tool, the "Channel Arc Manche" group should enable to:
- Improve the visibility of maritime projects and actions in the Channel area
- Consult the DG MARE and stakeholders on studies and other deliverables of the CAMIS project
- Promote a better consideration of the Channel area specificities in the future Strategies for the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea
