Executive Committee
The Executive Committee of the Arc Manche Assembly is composed of all full members. It has the authority to take the decisions necessary in order to meet the objectives of the Arc Manche Assembly. It meets at least twice a year. Decisions in the Executive Committee are generally reached by consensus. However, the Executive Committee can take decisions by vote, by simple majority.
President and Vice-President
The President and Vice-President of the Arc Manche Assembly are elected by the full members for two years. The Presidency alternates between the French and the British.The current president is Alain Le Vern, President of the Upper Normandy region. The President's tasks are to represent, promote and defend the objectives of the Arc Manche Assembly to European and national institutions and other organisations. The President will chair the annual Conference and the Executive Committee meetings.
The President is assisted in his/her tasks by a Vice-President of the other nationality. It is currently Brad Watson OBE, also a West Sussex County Council Member. The Vice-President substitutes for the President as and when necessary. He also oversees the drafting of opinions and political declarations in collaboration with the President.
Bureau
The bureau is composed of the President and the Vice-President.It ensures the management of the Assembly and oversees the implementation of decisions taken by the Executive Committee with regard to the mission and objectives of the Assembly. It prepares and presents the annual activity report to the Executive Committee.
Secretariat
The secretariat is responsible for the day to day running of the Arc Manche Assembly. It prepares the Executive Committee and the Annual Conference meetings, maintains the website and is the main point of contact for all members and enquiries.
Arc Manche Conference
The Arc Manche Conference brings together all full and associate members. It meets once a year during the first week of July. However, it can meet exceptionally at the request of the Executive Committee.The Conference meetings shall be the occasion for exchanges and debates on all questions that contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Assembly and the development of Franco-British partnerships.
